Scovel Hall

Scovel Hall

Scovel Hall is the home of the Geology and Philosophy departments. In addition to several large classrooms, Scovel has both seminar rooms and laboratories as well as individual laboratory spaces for seniors who are working on their I.S. projects.

Did You Know? - OhioSeis, Wooster's seismic station, became the first operating seismograph in Ohio when it was launched in September, 1997.

In an experiment in ‘mind’ over ‘matter,’ Scovel Hall houses our philosophy department on the top floor and the geology department on the bottom floor. Some of the largest lecture classrooms can be found in this building. Also located in Scovel is Wooster’s very own seismometer, which has the ability to monitor earthquakes all over the globe.
