Applying for Admission

Students who wish to be considered for the following competitive scholarships need to have a completed application for admission and required scholarship materials into the Office of Admissions postmarked by January 1.

Arthur Holly Compton Scholarship Clarence Beecher Allen Scholarship
College Scholar Award Covenant Scholarship
Leadership in Diversity Music, Theater, or Scottish Arts Scholarship

Students who apply for admission by the February 15th deadline will automatically be considered for the following general scholarships:

Academic Achievement Award Alice Power Scholarship
Byron Morris Scholarships Science & Math Scholarship
Wayne County Scholarship

Application Instructions:

The College of Wooster has two parts to our application for admission. Part I begins the process and allows us to start learning about you, so we can better understand your needs and interests in the application process. Part II requires you to complete the Common Application. A copy of Part I can be found on the Office of Admissions Web site or on the Common Application website at www.commonapp.org. You may also contact the Office of Admissions at 800-877-9905 for a copy. Part II can be found at www.commonapp.org or by contacting the Office of Admissions.

In addition to Part I and II of the application, the following forms must be submitted by the stated postmarked deadline.

  • $40 Application Fee (waived for those who apply online)
  • Secondary School Report (including official high school transcript)
  • SAT I or ACT scores (included in school report or sent from the testing service)
  • Counselor's Recommendation
  • One Teacher Recommendation
  • Early Decision Agreement (see www.commonapp.org)
  • Dean's Reference (Transfer students only)

Special Note: If you will be applying for need-based financial aid for the 2008-2009 academic year, you must submit EITHER Wooster's 2008-2009 Need-Based Aid Application (after January 1, 2008) OR the CSS Financial Aid PROFILE in addition to the FAFSA.
